Many thanks to Sue and Dave who spoke about the recent Bioblitz on their farm Kleine Perle which is, according to botanist Tony Rebelo, "one of the most exciting places in the Cape botanically". (CapeNature has designated the area a contract nature reserve.)
It was a really interesting talk - although I thought it was slightly lacking in photographs of plants! But you can go to the page on iSpot which has a list and photos of some of the things that turned up during the blitz. Quite awesome!

A bioblitz is a biological survey to record all the living species within a designated area. Groups of scientists, naturalists and volunteers conduct an intensive study over a short, usually 24 hour, period.

We hope you had a happy birthday Dave!
