An example that Alison, who attends Toastmasters, gave was "I teach people to behave in front of food" - from a Dietician.
Most of us came up with interesting job descriptions (some more than others!) but lets face it, our group does have some interesting jobs that don't really qualify as boring even with a straight answer.
Some other examples I found afterwards were:
- Talk in other people’s sleep: University Professor
- Manage waste recycling, promotion & sales: Antiques Dealer
- Ensure that stupid people stay in the gene pool: Lifeguard
- Spend most of the day looking out the window: Pilot
- Take a simple two-way promise and turn it into several complicated one-way promises which neither side can understand or hope to fulfill: Lawyer
Then we quickly "did" the books and got down to the real business of coffee and cake! Many thanks Alison for some great books, wonderful food and a fun evening.
