Where the June bugs Zoom*

As the lyrics from Oklahoma say - "plenty of heart and plenty of hope" which just about sums up Veronica's offering of wonderful books for the June Zoom meeting (we have slipped back another stage in anticipation of the Covid Third Wave - hence the Zoom).

Saving a Stranger’s Life by Anne Biccard is the real life diary of an Emergency Room doctor in Johannesburg, One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margo by Marianne Cronin is a heart-warming story of two patients who form a firm friendship in a Glasgow hospital terminal patient ward and Surrogate by Susan Spinder is about a woman who agrees to be a surrogate mother for her daughter. The Four Winds by American bestselling novelist Kristin Hannah is set in the American Depression in the 1930s and follows the life of Elsa who sets out to alleviate the lot of migrant workers in California.

* with apologies to Oklahoma: 'Flowers on the prairie where the June bugs zoom, Plenty of air and plenty of room, Plenty of room to swing a rope! Plent of heart and plenty of hope!"
