Musical interlude

Thanks Alison for a great musical evening with Leon and Zoë. Leon led us all on a wonderful musical adventure through a myriad of different instruments - and we even had a chance to drum. We must have been a far cry from his usual bunch of happy and enthusiastic kids, but we had a great evening.
The delicate bird flutes brought to mind the quirky book Birds without wings by Louis de Bernieres which was set in Turkey. The villagers change the name one of the characters from Abdul to 'Karatavuk' which is Turkish for blackbird because he is so good at making bird whistles.
Thanks too for the delicious cake and other eats. And, almost forgot, the books. A great selection.
