Penguins, swallows - and sex
Thanks Bev for a very nice and cosy book club last night. The books seemed to have a slight avain bias - what with A single swallow and the heron on the cover of The Music Room by William Fiennes. (Any relation to the acting Fiennes I wonder?) Need to read it.
We discussed the book The Great Penguin Rescue and I see that the author, Dyan deNapoli has made a recording of some of her experiences. Click here to get to it.
Marilyn mentioned that we should get some more books by thriller writer Jo-anne Richards so I did a quick google and found this site. The book we had in the book club was My Brother's Book. I remember wanting to read it but it just disappeared so if anyone has a copy I would love to read it!
Someone asked about the author Richard Mason who has some link with South Africa and some rave reviews but - I don't think this is a book to every Woodland book club member's liking as I gather there is an awful lot of sex - but apparently good fun sex - in many different permutations. I googled Richard Mason and got lots of hits. Try this for starters.
I am also most interested to hear Joan's take on the sex in Love in the time of Cholera!
Bev's labradorables wishing they could partake of the quiche, chocolate cake and almond slices!
