Movie of Swarup's "Q&A" - Slumdog millionaire - wins 8 Oscars!

Vikas Swarup is a diplomat who recently came to South Africa as the Deputy High Commissioner for India.
Born in Allahabad, India, after graduating as a lawyer, he joined the Indian Foreign Service and has served in Turkey, the United States, Ethiopia and Great Britain, and now SA.
While living in London in 2003, he thought he would try writing fiction. A die-hard thriller fan, he says the resulting book, Q&A marries the pace of a thriller with social commentary.
It was made into a movie called Slumdog Millionaire and at the Oscars the other night I see that it won in all but one of the categories for which it was nominated including best picture, best director and best adapted screenplay.
We have his next book, Six Suspects (Sue K's book, 2169) currently in the bookclub.
Dev Patel and Freida Pinto in the movie.
